Guidance Notes For Use of e-Booking Service ("the Service")


  1. The Service provides for online appointment booking for inspection of original land grant documents ("Land Grant Inspection") and plans deposited in the Land Registry ("Deposited Plan Inspection") for the next 14 working days at the following offices:

  3. This Service is for booking available time slots between 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday except public holidays.
  4. This Service is for advance booking of not less than 2 working days prior to the date of inspection. For appointment booking of less than 2 working days prior to the inspection, applicant may contact the respective inspection office for the arrangement.
  5. Applicant may apply to inspect up to 5 plans or 5 original land grant documents per each appointment.
  6. Duration of each session is 30 minutes.
  7. Applicant has to return the land grant documents or the plans to the Land Registry's staff before or on expiry of the booked session unless with permission of the Land Registry.
  8. Applicant may book up to 2 available time slots each day only, be they consecutive or not.
  9. After an appointment is successfully made, applicant may enquire, cancel, or change the appointment to another available time slot(s) via the Service.
  10. A reminder email will be sent to the e-mail address provided by the applicant 2 days before the appointment date.
  11. The Land Registry may from time to time change the available time slots of the Service without prior notice.
  12. Applicant is required to provide the name, contact number and e-mail address to facilitate communication with the Land Registry regarding this Service.
  13. All appointments confirmed are non-transferable.
  14. Applicant should present the confirmation email issued by the Land Registry when attending the inspection office. For inspection of land grant documents at the Land Registry Archive Office, applicant has to give a confirmation statement to the Land Registry regarding the restriction on the use of personal data contained in the land records obtained from this service and produce his/her identification document for checking by the Land Registry’s staff. Otherwise, the Land Registry may refuse his/her request for the service.
  15. The Land Registry's offices will be closed when the tropical cyclone signal No. 8 or above is raised by Hong Kong Observatory. The special arrangement under the inclement weather conditions are available at the LR website. Applicant is advised to check the LR website or contact us on 2158 6434 (Land Grant Inspection) or 2867 5818 (Deposited Plan Inspection) before coming for the inspection.
  16. The Land Registry reserves the right to refuse any applicant using the Service to make appointment for whatsoever reasons including but not limited to repeated absence.
  17. The Land Registry reserves the right to change/reject/cancel any confirmed booking; and to refuse entry of any applicant at the sole discretion of the Land Registry; and/or impose further conditions for use of the Land Registry’s facilities as deemed necessary.
